In Benjamin Phelan's, “How We Evolve” Phelan talks about how we evolve. He starts out by talking about where we came from and how we got to this place. He evolve to keep up with the changing environment. The only problem is with us wasting and polluting the planet the environment is changing more rapidly. Phelan thinks that this will have a negative effect on evolution which will eventually cause our extinction.
In my opinion i think that Phelan could be right and he could be wrong. I think that it is a possibility that what we are doing would have a negative effect on evolution but i don't think that it will lead to extinction. When we evolve we change so that we adapt to our new environment, so even if we have to evolve to rapidly to this climate change, i don't think it will kill us all.

The Ethics of Climate Change
In John Broome's The ethics of climate change Broome talks about how future generations will suffer harmful effects of global climate change. The only thing is they will be a lot richer then we are. This brings up a very hard ethical choice. Do we change our ways to help the environment or do we stay course and help future generations to become richer. In my opinion I think that most people will not change there ways. People want to be richer, and they will do anything to no matter what the costs to the environment. That is why i don't think people will change there ways. When people here ways to get richer they will do whatever they can to get more money. If people hear that they should help the environment they will agree because they don't want to hurt the planet but then money is the thing that will cause them not to help because they don't want to spend it. This show that people will do anything no matter who or what it hurts to get richer.

Small Object of Just Add Water
In my opinion i think that the small object of Just Add Water is the Rite Valu sign. I think that the town and the sign are alike. If you change a few letters on the sign it will be correct and better. This is like the town because if you change a few things in the town like get rid of Dirk and get water back in the lake, than the town can improve and finally become prosperous again.

Creative destruction
IN Michael Specter’s “Big Foot” he puts in John Elkington’s claim that “We are in an era of creative destruction." I completely agree with that claim. In the past decade or two we have come up with a lot of good inventions. The only problem is some of these inventions can cause bad things and pollution when they are either made or disposed of. I think this is because for us we don't really care about the consequences. We just want the best products no matter what it causes.
Myself as a consumer i don't at all feel that i am responsible for global warming. I think that it is the company who is making these products fault. They are the one hurting the environment. They are the one putting these products on the shelves. Us as consumers should be responsible for the consequences of these products. These companies should put products on the shelves if they can cause these results.

My Opinion on Blogging
For me, blogging is a writing experience that I don't really like. I don't really care if other people read my blog or if they comment, but i don't like commenting on other peoples. I don't really like to give comments on other peoples work. I feel like i never have anything good to say or anything that would help them. Another reason that i don't like blogging is that i would get my work done on time a little more. In the 1st semester when we had to hand in paper homework's, i would never hand one in late. But then we went to blogs and you gave us a certain date when they all had to be due, which made me slack off and do them right before that final due date.

The Writing Center
When i went to the writing center i brought the small object essay. I personally didn't really feel like i got much help when i went there. The person that was helping me didn't really get the point of my essay. It was also hard to explain the essay to him. Me and the person that was helping didn't really click. It is hard because my essay was on hockey sticks and to a person that doesn't know anything about hockey. It would be kind of hard to help me.
I haven't gotten to changing my essay yet. He gave me some ideas that will kind of help but other than that i am just gonna use Dr. Lay's great comments to make my essay better.

“Do we create what we observe through the act of our observations?”
“Do we create what we observe through the act of our observations?” This is a very good question. It basically means that do we only observe certain things when you already have an opinion on a subject. In my opinion i think that this is very true. It is very hard to notice things when you already are bias to a certain way. For me this happens a lot in sports. I myself am i big mixed martial arts fans. For people who don't know what that is it is cage fighting that implements all different types of martial arts. The UFC is the biggest mixed martial arts company in the world. When i am watching the fights it is hard to see what one fighter is doing good when you already like the other fighter. When my favorite fighter is fighting i always think that he is winning and then if he loses i will be like that is bull shit he won that fight. But if it was just 2 fighter that i didn't really like i would probably agree with the judges. When you already have an opinion on a subject it is hard to see the good things in it if you already have so many bad things to say about it and vica-versa, when you have something that yo love it is hard to point out the bad things in it.
Greed
Greed looks like a spoiled little kid. This kid just wants every little thing that he sees. No matter what it is he has to have it. This kid will do whatever it takes to get what he wants. He will throw temper tantrums, he will cry, he will do anything to get that one thing that he wants. And this happens with everything. No matter what the object is they want it. The child only things about himself. All he will think about is that he wants whatever the product is and it doesn’t matter if he can’t have it or he is not allowed to have it, cause he will keep trying until he gets it.
Faustian Economics
Are we really that wasteful? Well according to Wendell Berry’s Faustian Economics we are. Throughout this article Berry talks about how we are wasting natural resources at an extremely high level. He also talks about how greedy and wasteful people are getting. I couldn't agree more with him. People know a days could care less about the natural resources that they are wasting. People know a days drive everywhere and could care less how much gas they are wasting. People back in the day would walk to where ever they had to go unless it was to far. They wouldn't want to waste they gas that they had in the car. They would walk or ride there bikes so they can save there money and stay in shape. That is also in my opinion one of the big reasons why people drive so much, because they are out of shape. People now would rather sit and home or drive to a place then exercise or walk. Especially kids now a days. Kids now would rather stay at home a play video games rather than go out side and play sports or do other things. This is very wasteful. You are wasting all this electricity on playing video games while you should be doing something productive. This is how we are getting people would rather waste money then do anything productive to help themselves.
The Making of Knowledge
A lot of people say that you can't make knowledge by your self. They say that you need to talk to other people to make it. In my opinion this is right and wrong.
On one side i think that you can make knowledge by yourself. You can find things out all by yourself. You don't need someone else to help you find out certain things. You don't need to ask someone am i a certain height after you measure yourself, or you don't have to talk to someone about a food tasting good. You know that it tastes good, or your a certain height without talking to someone about it.
But one the other side you wouldn't know somethings without talking to someone before hand. Going back to my first example. You can find out that you are a certain height without asking someone, but you need someone to tell you what that height is. You wouldn't know what height it without someone telling what it is. So i guess in the end you do need to talk to someone to make knowledge. You can't decide something without being taught what that certain thing is, so you need to know these things before you can make new knowledge about these certain topics.

“Derrida: Fear of Writing”
I Derrida's fear of writing, Derrida talks about how powerful the written word is. For some people this might create anxiety. The might be worried about how there writing will affect people. In my case i don't worry about the power of my writing. I think this is mostly because i don't really care about that kind of stuff. I feel that the only time i will write is when it is for school, and when it comes to school i only really care about what kind of grade i am going to get. This makes me only worry about what the teacher will think of my writing. I don't write so that it will make an impact on many people. I write because it is just something i have to do.
Language is a slippery vehicle
Language is a slippery vehicle. At one point you can be trying to say something and then all the sudden you say one thing and the point you are trying to make completely changes. It is also slippery because it can be interpreted differently. You can say something that you think means one thing but another person might interpret it very differently.
